Graduate visa, also known as PSW, is a visa open to international students who have studied in the UK and have obtained a recognised degree. The holder of this visa can continue to stay in the UK for 2 years (3 years for a doctorate degree), for options to work or look for a job.

The Gradute route is suitable for international students who studied a recognised undergraduate, master and doctoral degree in the UK. 

 

Visa holders can gain time to work or look for work in the UK, regardless of skill level and industry sector.

Dependants who are already in the UK as your Tier 4 or Student dependants can apply to extend their stay as your Graduate Route dependant.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must apply from within the UK

  • The applicant's current visa must be a student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa

  • Applicants must hold a student visa or Tier4 (General) student visa and complete the minimum study period required for a UK bachelor's degree program, master's degree program or other eligible courses.

  • Applicants must have successfully completed their degree studies and their school must notify the Home Office before they apply for a visa.

Depending on the specific circumstances of the applicant, there may be additional requirements. Applicants shall seek advice from an immigration specialist.

General Application Requirements

When can you apply?

Applicants must submit their application before their student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa expires.

 

Additionally, applicants will need to wait until the school or provider has notified the Home Office and confirmed that the applicant has completed their degree. There is no need to wait until official graduation or degree certificates are issued to submit an application.
